KDB+/Q Developer

My Client is a leading global provider of margin and deliverable Foreign Exchange, Contracts For Difference (CFDs) and Financial Spread betting.

My clients core value is to build strong relationships with institutional clients, which include corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers.

Key Skills required for a KDB+/Q Developer:

  • Strong KDB+ system building & maintenance experience
  • Creation of Algorithms in Real Time Engines
  • Track record of building KDB plants from the ground up, working on hardware specifications through to business deliverables
  • Experience of data-driven development and unit-testing, mocking and back-testing
  • Experience with high-throughput messaging technologies
  • Essential Language: KDB+/Q


  • Background with multiple asset classes is an advantage
  • Background in/good understanding of trading systems is an advantage
  • Experience using risk and pricing analytics is an advantage
  • Data Science skills – Python, R and Data Analytics/Machine Learning skills
  • To be alert to Conduct Risk issues, specifically the risk of harm to client interests, market integrity and/or competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviours across the firm
  • Desirable Languages/Technologies: Python, Java, Apache Data Technologies
